-- Terry Fox died in 1981 one month short of his 23rd birthday after attempting a cross Canada run called the Marathon of Hope to raise money for cancer research. The statue in bronze is by John Hooper erected in 1983. Since Terrys run, millions of dollars have been raised in his name for cancer research. The statue is located on Wellington Street across from Parliament in Ottawa Ontario Canada. 1114
