-- At the end of World War II when Poland became part of the Soviet Bloc, the country's President Wladyslaw Raczkiewicz and its Government in Exile were based in this Georgian building in the Belgravia district of Westminster, Central London. They remained here until the end of communist rule in Poland in 1990.
