-- A large rounded Norman arch belonging to the medieval Tewkesbury Abbey in Gloucestershire. The arch and window is one of the best examples of a Norman arch in the UK. Norman (or Romanesque) architechture was the dominant ecclesiastical style between the 11th and 13th centuries. It was superceeded by the Gothic style.
