Lion Symbol Of India


The three headed lion - India's national symbol. The figure is derived from the Sarnath Lion Capital of Emperor Ashoka who ruled from 272 BC to 232 BC. A Dharma Chakra (wheel of law) is also carved into the stone. Statue on public display in the Kamala Nehru park in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India.
