-- Liebenberg Monument with Molker-Bastei behind. Johann Andreas von Liebenberg (born in Vienna, 29. November 1627; died in Vienna, 10. September 1683) was 1678-80 Citycourt and 1680-83 Mayor of Vienna. During the Turkish siege (Kara Mustafa) of Vienna in the year 1683 (the second siege, the first was in 1529) he was inspecting the construction of defend-bastions. Monument is located on Dr.Karl-Lueger-Ring opposite the Vienna University, constructed by Silbernagel (1890).
