Picture of Jane Austen's House, Winchester
-- The house in Winchester, Hampshire, where the author Jane Austen died in 1817. She had moved to Winchester for medical treatment and continued to work on her last great novel - Persuasion - until her death. She is buried in the nearby Winchester Cathedral. A plaque on the front of the house bears her name.
