Picture of Fish River Canyon At Sunset, Namibia
-- Fish River Canyon, in Southern Namibia, is the second largest canyon in the world. It is about 160 km long, up to 27 km wide and up to 550 m deep. Earth crust movements over 500 million years ago cracked the land and began a process of glacial and river erosion that slowly shaped the canyon, exposing the many layers of sedimentary and igneous rock.
