Photo of Dead Vlei
-- Dead trees are a testimonial of the vegetation that thrived in areas once reached by seasonal rivers, now blocked by high shifting sand dunes of the Namib Desert. Humidity is so low that dead trees don't decompose, and some are believed to be a few hundred years-old. Taken in Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia, in one of the driest places in the world - it never rains here and water comes from far away mountains in the rainy season. Concept for global warming and climate change.
