Image of Air Drying Wooden Building
-- Rubber Air-Drying Building made of many strips of wood under construction at Palembang, Indonesia. This building will be used to hang thousands of sheets of rubber until they are dry. The dried sheets of rubber will then be converted by appropriate machinery into various grades of Standard Indonesian Rubber (SIR) which is then sold to manufacturers of rubber products such as tyres, dock fenders, shoe soles, rubber hoses, etc. This picture is rather rare because it can only be taken when such a building is under construction. The use of air-drying buildings to dry rubber sheets is only practiced in Indonesia. Rubber processors in other countries use drying ovens instead.
