My philosophy on photography and image production is: First, it must be ethical. I don't copy other peoples' work. I don't shoot pornography or produce obscene images. I always ask for permission to take photographs when it is necessary.
Second, every photograph must convey a message. It can be a simple message or it can be a sophisticated one. The message sometimes is more important than the technical competence of the image itself.
Third, whenever it is appropriate, apply the high technical quality to an image. This can be color balancing, noise filter, cropping, sharpening, etc.
