Me:
I have loved photography since I was a kid. I started using what cameras we could afford. They were simple but started a seed inside of me. For many years, I wanted to do more with photography, but my family came first.

In 1993, I had a Minolta 35mm camera, a couple of lenses and filters. I took a night photography class just as the digital age was about to take off. I remember the teacher wanting to sell his medium format film camera at the end of the course. And I asked, out of curiosity, if he thought that digital was going to replace the film camera and was that why he was selling it. His comment was “Not for a long time”. I didn’t buy it and the next year digital took off and hasn’t slowed down since. Not long after that my Minolta was stolen.

I got into stock photography in 2005 with a Sony point & shoot. Before that, I just couldn’t see myself selling a photo at such a low price. But after I did some research and understood more about stock photography, I decided to go for it.

Two years later, I got a Nikon D80. Having learned my lessons, my camera doesn’t leave my sight.

Last year in 2007, I upgraded to my D200. While in Guatemala recently, someone bumped into my camera – not hard but hard enough that it damaged the lens. So far the remainder of the trip, I used a meter and manual settings, reviewed the images and adjusted the light accordingly to get a somewhat decent shot. I have since had the lens repaired and in the meantime bought an additional lens - a Nikkor 18-200 with vibration reduction.

I am one who will always be learning. I study photos online, and as my fiancé says I over criticize myself. I was once told that when you thought you knew it all, you wouldn’t learn anything new.

I love shooting just about anything. I love capturing time - the moment that just happened will never happen again.

I hope you enjoy my photos. Please let me know where you will use my work. Thanks.
