Our Featured Artist - Joe
I use a Nikon D-100 with a 28-100mm zoom and a 70-300mm telephoto lens. I use Photoshop CS2, Photoshop 7.1, Nikon View, Nikon Capture, and Nikon control software for most of my digital editing. I like to photograph just about everything. I photographed weddings with film for 30 years and have done 3 digitally so far. I like to shoot custom cars and Indy race cars. I do some portraiture, landscapes, commercial, studio, and location shoots. I used to do some Model portfolios also. Now I am trying to do a lot of Stock photography! I used to be a systems administrator at a newspaper so I know a little about the web business and software!! I just love to take any kind of pictures when I have the chance. Digital has given me the chance to shoot a lot more than if I had to go out and buy film every time I wanted to do a shoot or just play around with a new technique. I also love to travel. I've been to Australia 3 times so far and want to go back again soon. I'm going to be 57 this year and am starting to do a lot more traveling when I can afford it. I started doing photography when I was about 15 years old, and started with a Kodak Instamatic 104 camera with 126 film cartridges. I got my first SLR from Sears , a Ricoh with Pentax screw mount lenses. My next camera was a Nikon F-4 and I was hooked on the Nikon system from then on. I also used a Mamiya 645 for wedding photography, a 4x5 Omega for commercial and architectural. I had my own color darkroom and did my own B&W also. I've used about every kind of film that was made, B&W and Color Slide and Negative. I've enjoyed photography for over 40 yeas so far and hope to keep on as long as I can still see and get around!!
