Have you ever dreamed of living in a forest filled with animals that spoke to
you and trees that actually came alive? I am sure you did. At least when you
were a child… Steve has lived in this world his whole life.
It is a good time of year for fairie stories.
Spiritual qualities - like generosity or a willingness to help or a good heart
-- are more apparent at this time of the year (Christmas).
And we are thankful to Steve for his unique work which he is presenting on
our site.
Let us hope that the mysterious future, which now only lies ahead, will
bring us happiness for the following year.

Look! This magic white hourse is inviting you to travel along mysterious
road. The illustration's unique coloring gives a special touch to
a view of the real world. The effect of
the sunset puts this illustration in the middle of fairy tale magic.
Leave your thoughts, problems, money, and troubles behind you… join us on a
magic journey to the land of Fairy Tales where dreams come alive before your
very eyes!

| Looking Back -- A mysterious white horse stands in a sandy
inner beach terrain and looks back into the setting sun. This intercoastal
scene is filled with emotion and warm sunset colors. The provocative pose of
the white horse and the desolate sandy sunlit setting combine to give a
thought-provoking, pensive mood to this composition. The texture is crisp and
grainy with sharp detail.

|
Snow Geese --
This mysterious looking misty winter wonderland has a soft dreamy effect. The
distant mountainscape is a scene from the Mission Mountain Range in northern
Montana.
|
Snow Geese are one of the wonders of Creation. Birch trees and Mountains
on the background mix time and space and the illustration speaks one more
wonderful story about mysterious journeys and unknown signals that are
telling birds to fly. Imagine if you could fly – where would you go?
|
Here would be a beautiful place to start. Go to this
magical place, and enjoy a light show underlined by warm gold colour tones
that radiates such a peaceful atmosphere .
I think it would be a place where you never grow old. Time is, in essence,
suspended here.

Majesty --
View of the Grand Canyon from the south rim, May 2005 This majestic view of the
Grand Canyon was taken in May of 2005 from the South Rim. Here is a dramatic
sunset vista of the canyon with loads of clear detail and golden hews of color.
The texture of this print is rugged and grainy to match the sense of the rocky
terrain.

This secret hiding place is in the middle of the woods and
there's nothing here, just trees, moss, and wildlife.
Maybe there's a little trail for the deer and they walk in their own world,
with no sign of Man.
Little light gets through, and deeper colors would add a scary quality -- a
real fairy tale illustration.
|
Hiding Place --
Two deer resting on a green mossy hillside with a mountain lion peering through
the trees – March 2006. This luscious green mossy landscape is located in Lolo
Forest, near Missoula, Montana. Rich color saturation, variety in texture and
shadow detail all bring a mysterious quality to this woodsy print. At first the
eye is drawn to the focal point of the restful deers in their cozy mossy bed
and all seems quite contented. But the plot thickens as a large mountain lion
is discovered lurking in the shadows just above them.
|
| Forest and swamps have always been associated with feelings of
magical, fairy-tale worlds. There is no human presence, dark and light forces
of nature are by themselves. A vivid beam of radiant light
contrasting with dark water colors assure us that good will prevail.

Dreamy Heron --
A mysterious Great Blue Heron is silhouetted in the misty sunlight of an
enchanting forest lily pond. This dramatic composition seems to draw the viewer
into the murky depths of this charming little woodsy pond. The eye travels from
the rich watery detail in the foreground and is drawn back into the distant
misty morning treeline. This picturesque little pond was captured one morning
along a country road outside of Ronan, Montana. The Great Blue Heron is a
familiar sight around this area.

This lyrical type of scenes can illustrate a story that starts
with "Once upon a time" or "Long, long ago"....
People are somewhere, they will be back, and the end of story will for
sure read like, "They lived happily ever after".

Out To Pasture --
A charming young miniature horse pony passing time in the pasture with some old
friends. It’s all about time. Time passing, time left, time out, nothing but
time. What a warm feeling this picture evokes. It’s a rustic rendition of both
days gone by and new life springing from the past. Then again it’s just a real
cute little pony. His name is Andre, and he was all of two weeks old at the
time of this photo. He likes spending time with old friends outside of Ronan,
Montana

| Steve, about himself

I've always had this thing for art.
When I was growing up it was a lot of fun, I could make pictures, it was like some kind of magic.
In college I studied, examined and dissected the many aspects of art: photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, illustration, printing, and so on and so forth...
Somewhere along in there, my artistic fun began to fade into something called "homework." Then after 30 years of working in the field of graphic art and photography I came dangerously close to losing the magic.
Magic, that's what art is all about. It's the magic of moving people, making them think about something –
touching their heart. But there I was, sold into the marketplace of commercial art: time is money, make it look like a million, do it fast and keep track of every billable hour...how sad.
But then, low and behold, as fate would have it, and by the grace of God, sweet deliverance came. Last year my wife took a job as a traveling nurse and we’ve become what is known as full-time RVers. That's right, we get to spend our days traipsing across these United States and exploring all the many wondrous sights and spectacles it has to offer.
And yes, once again I have found the magic. I have my PowerBook Mac, Konica/Minolta, Photoshop program, AirCard Internet, many assorted acquired tricks of the trade, and lots and lots of God's wonderful creation to play with.
What more could an artist ask for – except maybe a client or two?But mostly my prayer is that God will use this magic of art, photography and design prints to reveal some part of His eternal truth and touch someone’s heart with a message of His eternal beauty and power.
