When I was odering the book "The Color Star" by Johannes Itten at
Amazon.com, I came across a very interesting review: "If you came to
me for a job in graphic design and you told me you hadn't studied Itten, I
wouldn't hire you."
A point in case: The Johannes Itten wheel is the RYB (The primary colors
are red, yellow and blue) wheel, not the RGB wheel (The primary colors are red,
green and blue) that we have to deal every time we turn on our computer.
In his book, The Art of Color,Johannes ltten covers color principles in
detail, and identifies strategies for successful color mixing based on the
seven color contrasts: Hue, Light-Dark, Cold-Warm, Complementary, Simultaneous,
and Saturation.
