detailed description
: The worls largest rainforest, 7 million sq.km, Amazon forest is considered by many as our planets lung. The forest is shared by nine countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Suriname, French Guiana and Guiana, but 60% of it are in Brazil.
The soil however is very poor, so plants have adapted to this condition. Though home of mammals such as the jaguar and the capybara, its largest animal diversity is found in the tree tops, not only with birds, but also with monkeys, sloths and bats.
The Amazon is a very delicate environment and many projects are trying to preserve it. Sales profits from this image will be sent to a preservation fund.
