FeaturePics.com announces its latest benchmark of 10,000 images uploaded and
published. Along with this is our latest incorporation of the IPTC Standard. FP
will continue to serve it's Authors and Purchasers with the newest and up to
date technology, as it becomes available.
JPEG files can contain various information besides the pure image information,
such as copyrights, captions, keywords and other items.
This information is known as IPTC Standard. The story is that IPTC, the
International Press Telecommunications Council, was one of the groups
responsible for encouraging the standards necessary to "marry" the text
information describing an image with the image data itself. The NAA is the
Newspaper Association of America (formerly ANPA), and they also have been
responsible for developing standards for exchanging information between news
operations, including information used to describe images.
Adobe Photoshop ™ can be used to manipulate this information from the File,
then File information menu. Each image can be saved using Adobe Photoshop ™
with this text information embedded within the file.
As soon as an Image is uploaded to our site we will extract this information.
The procedure to process photos will go much faster now, as well as more
securely.
Stay tuned to www.FeaturePics.com for more fun and technology.
