My name is Roger Whitcomb. I live in Hatfield in Hertfordshire,
which is in the UK. My passion is Military Aviation Photography. I have been
taking photographs for as long as I can remember, some of the images on my
website date back to the early 80's!
I must admit I would rather be flying some of the aircraft but photographing
them is the next best thing. I have had a passion for military aircraft since I
was 4 years old and my father took me to my first airshow.

| I always wanted to join the RAF as
aircrew and indeed tried twice but to my great regret I was unsuccessful on
both occasions. So far I have only been able to photograph aircraft in the UK,
both on airbase visits and at airshows. One day I would love to visit some of
the major airshows and airbases in the US and also Zhukovsky in Russia. One
day...

My favorite aircraft is the Lockheed SR-71
Blackbird, I remember making regular visits to RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk in the
late 80's and early 90's to see the aircraft as there was a detachment of them
based there, also it made regular appearances at the annual Air Fetes. I still
think that the plane looks very space age, it's the sexiest aircraft I've ever
seen!
