Don't rely on color alone
If you are using images that provide important information (not just design elements), insure that there is sufficient contrast to allow the visitor to discern that information.
Reveal how your images may appear to users with a variety of color blindness conditions.

Female orientation in web design
Oh, MiGod, not pink again!
Women and men have different aesthetics. If you know you are designing for women - what graphics would you use?

Male oriented design
Male subjects tended to assign higher ratings to pages designed by men.
Men responded better to dark colors and straight, horizontal lines across a page.
Men were more pleased by a three-dimensional look and images of "self-propelling" rather than stationary objects.

The 2008 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, were awarded to Beijing. Interest in this global event could spark a trend in:

- Chinese motifs that include the dragon, pine trees, tall jagged mountains and birds such as the crane.
- Floral motifs with peonies and chrysanthemums.
- Chinese calligraphy.
Looking forward to this event we will begin to publish several new "Chinese theme" selections of images.

Blue Iris won! Is it because the color blue is ready to play an even more significant role in 2008, an election year?
The blue iris implies faith, hope, wisdom, courage, and so, we vote for BLUE!

Rectangular to polar filter in Photoshop
Another interesting photo effect, is the ability to take a normal 3 dimensional set of photos, combine them, and then with a couple of PS tricks, you end up with the result on the left. This type of image forces the eyes to go in a circular direction in order to see the whole image...
