By using FeaturePics.com, you agree to the following:
All images uploaded onto this site are original material. By uploading images onto this site, artists are automatically assumed to be the creator and owner of the image. You may not upload images created by another person or taken from another source such as another website, etc.
You will not upload images or publish statements that defame, abuse or threaten others.
You will not upload Images or publish Statements that are bigoted, hateful or racially offensive. If you upload malicious, inappropriate material repeatedly, your account will be cancelled without notice. By uploading to the site, you also acknowledge that the site administrators reserve the right to reject any of your photos at any time if they feel that they are inappropriate for the site in any way.
All models, actors, actresses and other persons in images with adult content should be over the age of eighteen (18) years of age at the time of the creation of the image.

Size and format requirements
Size Requirements: The minimum dimension requirement 1200 pixels.
File formats: JPG, EPS (EPS only via FTP)
We will not accept
  • Image(s) with any text (names, e-mail addresses, etc.) or watermarks on them
  • Image(s) with timestamps
  • Image(s) containing copyrighted material (paintings, posters, advertisements, CD / book / DVD covers)
  • Interpolated (upsized) images.
  • Image(s) created by other people or taken from other websites
  • Derogatory Image(s)
  • Pornographic Image(s)
Restrictions applied to such subjects
  • Trademarks and Logos: Images that have visible trademarks and logos are not acceptable.
  • Architecture: Images of buildings that are not old enough to be in the public domain and if they are the primary subject of the photo are not acceptable.
    Some recent examples of images that have been rejected: Burj Al Arab, Millennium Dome, La Grande Arche de la Defense, City of Arts and Sciences.
  • Sculpture: Images of sculptures that are not old enough to be in the public domain, even photographs have been taken in public places are not acceptable.
  • Vehicles: Images of vehicles that have a visible license plate, images with obvious brand design elements of cars, are not acceptable.
  • Paintings: Photographs of paintings that are not in the public domain or the permission from the original artwork Author, is missed are not acceptable.
  • Banknotes and documents: Flat scans of currency and official documents are not acceptable.
  • Book covers: Book covers that are not generic and have copyrighted or trademarked words, art or items, are not acceptable.
  • Characters from books and films: not acceptable.
  • Maps: Only Maps from free media repositories are acceptable.
  • People: Images are acceptable only if model releases are provided.
  • Museums: We don’t accept images from Museum interiors or exhibit areas, and we are very selective of images of museum exteriors.
  • Stamps: We accept stamps if they are in the public domain or they have the post office ink (postmark or cancel) seal that proves they have been used.
  • Universities: We are very restrictive. Many of Universities require a fee to be paid for Commercial photography.
  • Vatican City, English landmarks: We are very restrictive .
  • Air Shows: only under RF editorial license.
  • Airports: Only under Editorial license. Please avoid photographing airline names and abbreviations.
  • Transportation: Some Transport Properties such as BART, BNSF Railway, Portland International Airport, Shinkansen are not acceptable.
  • Races and Cars: Only under the editorial license and very limited.
  • Cellphones and GPS: We accept photographs only if they don’t reflect trademarked designs such as the trademarked shapes of Blackberry, Motorola, Bluetooth etc. The image containing a cell phone or GPS should have a concept. It should not be a direct shot of the device.
  • Exhibitions: We don’t accept images of new inventions.
  • Pharmaceutical: Please avoid Pharmaceutical Trade Marks such as Analgin, Aspirin, Chloropromazine, Ferrous Sulphate, Piperazine etc in your shots and descriptions.
  • Red Cross: A red cross symbol is not a symbol for first-aid, hospitals, or emergency. The Red Cross vigorously pursues those who infringe Red Cross trademarks. Even the image of the English Flag has been requested for deletion by Authorities, because “color so closely resembling red on white that it could be easily mistaken for the Red Cross emblem”.
When uploaded:
  • Describe the Image(s)
  • Submit the Image(s) for FeaturePics review.

Images uploaded, but not submitted for review within 3 months, will be deleted.
When accepted:
  • Image(s) will be published
  • You may request to remove Image(s) at any time. The request will be processed within 90 days.

FeaturePics is currently accepting fewer images than in the past in an attempt to minimize the amount of similar images. As a first step, we are ask you to go through your portfolio and keep only the best and most unique images.

We will be accepting fewer images in the following categories:

  • mountain
  • flags
  • woman on the phone
  • some scenery subjects
  • roads
  • currency
  • butterflies
  • skyscapes
  • fireworks display
  • bridges
  • pets
  • waterfalls
  • zoo animals
  • rail tracks
  • London Eye
  • hot air ballons
  • firework
  • travel
  • peeble stones
  • brick wall
  • posing models

We understand that bulk submissions are essential and these will continue.

Please use this capability carefully and do not submit a thousand or more images at once.

We will not accept all of them, and of necessity, we will not be able to give the accept / reject process the attention necessary to accept your best work. To be sure that your best work is on display, limit your submissions to that best work.

Image deleting rules

For images uploaded before '12/05/2010': Once an Image is uploaded, FeaturePics can sell licenses for 90 days. The Image may not be withdrawn during this period.

For images uploaded after '12/05/2010' (but before '04/15/2011'): Once an Image is uploaded, FeaturePics can sell licenses for 180 days. The Image may not be withdrawn during this period.

For images uploaded after '04/15/2011': Once an Image is uploaded, FeaturePics can sell licenses for 360 days. The Image may not be withdrawn during this period.

Image quality requirements and submission rules may change from time to time. We reserve the right to remove images if they don't qualify under the current rules and have not been sold over the last year.
