When Model/Property Release required

Because of the complexity of this subject (most likely a lawyer will tell you "It depends on...") we are making "reasonable efforts" to protect all sides against any problems:

1. If a person in an image can be identified, we require a model release, if you license your image under the RF or RM license.
If your image has a person's identifiable property then a property release must be provided, if you license your image under RF or RM license.

2. If a person/property can be identified, but you have no model/property release - we allow you to license your image under an RF/RM Editorial license. The First Amendment of the US Constitution grants rights for people to report the news.

We inform a buyer about the release status (not the release content). If a photographer notifies a buyer that the release doesn't exist - it is the responsibility of the buyer to decide how this image can be used.

If release exists, a buyer has a right to request disclosure of the release.
In this case we contact you and ask your permission to disclose the release.

You can download our forms (.pdf or .doc) below. Please print the form, fill out the information, scan the release, and save it in JPG format with medium quality (gray scale), or PDF format.
Upload applicable Releases in the [Model & Property Releases] section.
