Images 32 is distributed free of charge to a specially targeted list of 4,000
UK and European art buyers in summer 2008 and sold worldwide. The complete
annual will be published as part of the Images archive on the AOI's website
promoting the selected illustrations online.
Conditions for Entry

Only UK illustrators or overseas illustrators working for UK clients may submit
work.

Work must have been completed since January 2006.

Torn, folded or damaged proofs/prints will be returned if not in a condition to
be read by a computer scanner.

Work may be disqualified if the conditions are not met in full.

Companies or individuals may submit work they have commissioned.

Commissioners submitting work must have the agreement of the illustrator
concerned.

Each selected entrant is committed to having a minimum of one image reproduced
in the annual at the shared page rate shown on this page.

The entrant will be invoiced for publication fees should the entered
illustration be selected.

Commissioners please note that you will be invoiced for page rates and hanging
fees in the event of the selection of a piece of work you have submitted.

Payment of publication fees can be made in instalments.

The layout of Images, regardless of size or placement, is at the discretion of
the designer whose decision is final.

The entrant is required to provide original artwork or high quality prints to
be displayed at the London show and touring exhibition if the work is selected.
The entrant may decide to hang only one work if multiple entries were selected.

Each exhibitor (excluding award winners) will be required to pay a hanging fee
at the rate shown on this page.

Maximum framed size of artwork for the exhibition is A1.

There is no additional cost to exhibitors for inclusion in the tour.

The entrant agrees that the selected image/s and the name of its author will be
published on the AOI website to document the history of Images.

The entrant agrees that the selected image/s will be used for the promotion of
Images 32 – competition, annual, exhibition and tour – such as invitation
cards, press coverage, information leaflets and postcards, posters etc. This
licence ceases four weeks after the Images 32 tour has finished.

The entrant confirms and agrees that the selected image is available for re-use
on the cover of Images 32 without any restriction or request for financial
contribution. If you are an agent or commissioner submitting the image please
contact the copyright holder to ensure his/her consent.

Any other utilisation of the selected image/s will compulsory be subject to a
negotiation with the copyright holders.

All artwork must be collected by the deadline after the exhibition tour, which
will be confirmed in writing in due course. After that date the artwork will
become the property of the AOI.

Should sufficient entries not be received for Images 32 the AOI reserves the
right to cancel.

About the Association of Illustrators
The AOI was established in 1973 to advance and protect illustrator’s rights and
encourage professional standards. The AOI is a non-profit making trade
association dedicated to its members’ professional interests and the promotion
of illustration.
Members consist primarily of freelance illustrators as well as agents, clients,
students and lecturers. The AOI is run by an administrative staff responsible
to a volunteer Council of Management.
