Images for your Blog

FeaturePics and it's Authors are offering free of charge, images licensed under "Blog Use License (tm)" for the world of blogs.

This licensing allows blog publishers to use low resolution (130 pixel) images without watermarks in blog/news content.

This new image license is of interest to anyone who wants to use free images without copyright infringement.

We recently published information about a free downloadable PowerPoint presentation about copyrighting in image licensing (Copyright and Digital Images).

This presentation has been produced by The Picture Archive Council of America (PACA),a North American trade association representing the interests of the image licensing industry.

The presentation is "geared to non-lawyers and is presented in a clear and informative way." http://www.pacaoffice.org/copyrightPresentation.shtml

I quote a paragraph from this presentation:

Popular Copyright Myths

  • If an image is on the internet/Google it is in the public domain.
  • If there is no copyright notice on the image, I don't need permission.
  • If I don't profit from the use, I don't need permission.
  • If I remove the image after notice, I don't owe any money to the copyright.
  • If I alter the image X% I don't need permission.
  • If I only use a part of the image I don't need permission.

One of our FeaturePics Authors, FlemishDreams, proposed to introduce a new type of license - special image license for blog publishers.
"Here is a perfect solution for you. Look up an image that suits you in the large quality-controlled database of stock pictures at Featurepics and put them right in your blog post without any hassles and for free. You will have the perfect image for your post!"

FeaturePics team used all means at it's disposal to research and answer this request promptly.

Try this link Images listed under "Blog Use License" -- you will find well-categorized images that you can use legally in your blog or news content.
