Chester England - A City in History
Chester is a city with a long and interesting history. Starting with the Romans, Chester went on to become a notable Saxon town. It was still a major military strong hold by the time of the Civil War in the 17th Century. Chester was one of the most important seaports in the country!
Chester has the most complete set of City Walls in the country. The shops and buildings have retained their unique half timbered character with some of the oldest shop frontages in the world.
