Hello there
I interest started in photography thanks to my Partner. He has never done photography as a full time hobby, his fishing is his life, but thanks to his enthusiasm, I have picked up the baton. Realising that there is a real science to it, meant it got my attention and kept it. Its the science and the thinking about the end photograph that I like, and the fact, that it is a moment in time frozen forever, I find that fascinating. The camera I am using is a Canon EOS 30D, and what a wonderful piece of equipment it is. Where I live, is quite a heavy industry area, with some serene peaceful areas not far away. I have only lived here for around 4 years, having moved here from the middle of nowhere, a small country village. As I am lucky enough to have my own vehicle, I am able to travel to where ever my camera wants to take me. Its funny, because if I had not moved out here, then I would not have the wealth of subjects that I do have, and had I not been born in the country, I would not know the people who let me take photographs of their land, animals and livestock. I really do feel very blessed.
I love to take photographs of people, maybe its an extension of my interest in psychology. These I tend to take for my own personal collection. I enjoy photographing animals as well, maybe its being from the country, but I don't take many scenery photo's, maybe I take it for granted. I find movement of any kind on a photo fascinating, that moment in time thing again.
Photoshop, now I have got the hang of it I am really enjoying it. I tend to use it for extreme changes, as I believe if a photo is good it needs nothing else.
The thing I like most about being a photographer is the fact that is starts conversations, another country thing I think, but when I moved here I noticed how unfriendly some people are, and I have had a few alarmed looks from my just saying 'hello' or 'good morning', its funny how a camera changes that.
I really do wish that I had found photography earlier, as from where I am standing, one can never stop learning.
Many thanks for stopping by
Sharon
