South Wales (UK) based photographer. Still building portfolio with 10 MP digital SLR camera, and working through archive of 35mm transparencies. I like to take pictures as they present themselves but am reasonably adept with the major editing software and am not averse to retouching where required.
Interests particularly include transport (aviation), old buildings and marine subjects. I live in a seaside town on the Bristol Channel at the southern tip of Wales. The area has a rich history of industrial boom and decline (Barry Docks once held the world record for the amount of coal exported). Barry itself hardly existed in the middle of the 19th century but developed rapidly with building of the docks. During WW2 Barry Docks were used by the US Airforce for the import / storage of munitions. The docks are all but disused now and, as is commonplace today, the area is being redeveloped with modern housing estates.
All forms of transport converge on Barry Docks - sea, rail, road and air - Cardiff airport is adjacent to Barry town.
I am available for, and keen to undertake, commissions. All work considered. |
