| My name is Homer Narvaez. Previously I have used my brother's Casio EX-P700, using its manual exposure settings. Right now I am using a Nikon D80, an 18-70mm lens, a 50mm f1.8 lens and a reversing ring for macro shots. Technology, for me, is a tool for achieving your desired image. It is a means to your vision, not the vision itself. Technology shapes the way people think, how people react to things, how people compose their pictures, but I also believe that even this big influence of technology does not change the simple things. Landscapes, nature, and all the other beauties of life can still be saved in paper with just a single press of the shutter release of a camera. No matter how technology changes, the essential things are still intact. I see photography as a way of sharing visions. How one creates this vision lies on one's hands. All of us have different visions, and this is my vision--a vision of peace and equilibrium in one's heart, with a love that overflows. A photographer is one who uses his photographs to share his vision. Hopefully, i am worth given that title. |
