My interest in photography is a recent thing. I used to be your typical "point and shoot" photographer, but as I've learned to use my camera I've become completely engrossed and now see photography as a legitimate career path. Soon I'll be upgrading to my first digital SLR, and am looking forward to opening new artistic horizons. One of the things I love about digital photography is the freedom to take as many pictures as I like. This has helped me develop my photographic eye. I particarly like to take photos of the small things around us - sometimes we overlook the beauty just out of sight. I'm beginning to see the world in different ways, too, and try to take shots that share what I see.
None of my photos are manipulated digitally, other than occasional cropping. If it looks good when I take it, there's no point in fixing something that isnt' broken!
I am educated both as a geologist and a librarian, and currently I spend my working hours in a public library. My hobbies include reading, writing, beadwork and crochet. I am looking forward to expanding my career in photography and am excited to share my work with you.
