I am an artist, photographer, graphic designer and book maker. I started working as a graphic designer in 1991 and became an art director in 1996. I am currently lecturing in multimedia and web design at the Raffles (formerly KVB) Institute of Technology, North Sydney.
In 2007, I was fortunate enough to have held two solo photographic exhibitions and was invited to contribute a mixed-media piece to a group exhibition of conceptual book arts. I was also invited to be a design team member for For Keeps Creative Scrapbooking magazine for 6 months.
As a photographer, I prefer to have a concept behind my images, instead of just randomly clicking away - although I do that too, especially if I’m bored or feeling uncreative. But I find my best stuff usually has an idea behind it. I both enjoy fine art photography and using photography within my art. I also love mucking about with Photoshop, creating textures or digital scenarios that I can use in my art – or as stand-alone artworks.
As an artist, I am happy to explore any and all mediums; whatever is required to produce the effect to suit the concept. I like exploring parallels between interactivity design in online and traditional art forms.
I’m happiest at home, playing and singing with my two beautiful kids and pfaffing about being creative.
